Free PMP Exam Simulator (180 Multiple Choice Questions)

Last Updated on May 23, 2025 by andrewshih

Are you preparing for the PMP exam and want to test your knowledge in a real exam-like environment?

You’re in the right place! This free PMP exam simulator offers one full-length practice exam with 180 practice questions. Moreover, the user interface is designed to closely mimic the look and feel and functionality of the Pearson VUE interface.

Whether deep into your PMP prep or just getting started, this simulator will provide additional practice and help you prepare for the PMP exam.

While I strive to provide quality practice exam questions and the exam simulator for free, please keep in mind that it is not a replacement for learning from authorized training providers with a premium exam simulator.

Since this is a large data file, it may take longer to load, especially the first time. Please use the contact form if you have any questions, suggestions, or want to report an issue.

PMP Exam Simulator Game Features

This simulator comes with key features to mimic the real exam interface that you won’t find in other free PMP exam simulators. I highly recommend playing this game using a desktop device to fully take advantage of all the features and the realistic exam experience.

  • Strikethrough text – Cross out incorrect answers using button or shortcut key just like on the real exam.
    • Button or Alt-W on desktop
    • Button or Option-W on Macbook.
    • Button-only on Andriod mobile device.
    • iOS mobile device (i.e. iPhone) does not support Strikethrough
  • Highlight text – Highlight important keywords or phrases in the question or answer choices.
    • Button or Alt-J on desktop
    • Button or Option-J on Macbook.
    • Button-only on Andriod mobile device.
    • iOS mobile device (i.e. iPhone) does not support Highlight
  • Flag for review – Mark any question you want to revisit later.
  • Navigation list – View and jump to any question using the question list menu.
  • Timed Exam – The clock starts once you start the test. You can take as long as needed to complete the exam. The purpose is to simulate the exam environment and determine your average time to complete a question.
  • Detailed review report – Once you complete or stop the exam, you’ll get a detailed report with a table showing the correct answers, your choices, and explanations for each answer choice.

Exam Simulator Question Breakdown

On May 22, 2025, I revised all 180 questions with the intention of aligning more closely with the moderate and difficult level questions in PMI Study Hall™.

The questions in each practice exam are divided into three sections based on the PMP Exam Content Outline (ECO):

  • People domain – Questions 1 to 75
  • Process domain – Questions 76 to 165
  • Business Environment domain – Questions 166 to 180

The questions in this exam simulator are arranged in the same order as the task sequence on ECO, and most tasks have 5 questions on average. The questions and answers are static (not randomized), which makes it easy to focus on specific areas you want to improve.

Here’s how the questions are distributed based on PMI’s Exam Content Outline:

Domain# ECO Tasks% of ExamQuestion RangeTotal Questions
People1442%1 – 7575 (42%)
Process1750%76 – 16590 (47%)
Business Environment48%166 – 18015 (11%)

If you want to mimic the real PMP test-taking experience, you can break it into three 60-question sessions and take a 10-minute break between them.

Or if you want to test your knowledge for a specific domain, pick the question grouping corresponding to the question distribution above.
